Title:The advanced placement expansion of the '90's: How did traditionally underserved students fare
Source:http://epaa.asu.edu/epaa/v12n68/v12n68.pdf
Date:2004
Organization:
Short Description:Examines the impact of the tremendous growth of the AP program in the 1990s on traditionally underserved students.
Annotation:This paper from the Education Policy Analysis Archives examines the impact of the tremendous growth of the AP program in the 1990s on traditionally underserved students. The author writes that small rural schools and high poverty schools continue to offer relatively few AP courses, and black, Hispanic, and low-income students remain grossly underrepresented in those classes. Recent federal funding changes may provide a step in the right direction.
