| Annotation: | In the U.S. system of higher education the responsibility of paying for college is shared by several actors: state and federal governments, institutions, philanthropy, students, and parents. While much has been written about the roles of many of these partners, comparatively little attention has been focused on the role of parents. Using data from the U.S. Department of Education and a specially commissioned, nationally representative survey of parents of current college students, this report presents a comprehensive overview of parents’ behavior in college enrollment and financing. |
