Annotation:This paper explores the impact of incarceration on crime rates at the neighborhood level. Set within a Social Disorganization framework, the underlying assumption of this study is that removing (and returning) large numbers of residents through incarceration is a form of residential mobility which can damage local network structures and undermine informal control.
