Title:California Community Colleges: Making them stronger and more affordable
Source:http://www.highereducation.org/reports/calcc/ca...
Date:2007
Organization:National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education
Short Description:This study finds that many California community college students struggle with finances and recommends modest fee increases to support increased financial aid and changes to improve student persistence and success.
Annotation:The strategy of the California Community Colleges to ensure affordability is to keep fees as low as possible. This study finds, however, that many community college students still struggle with finances and recommends modest fee increases to support increased financial aid for the rising non-fee costs of attendance and changes to improve student persistence and success.
