Short Description:This research documents the prevalence of transfer to highly selective institutions by low-income community college students through analysis of national longitudinal data. The findings also characterize the academic performance of transfer students in comparison to peers who began their studies in the four-year sector.

The findings also characterize the academic performance of transfer students in comparison to peers who began their studies in the four-year sector. A comprehensive portrait of the high school academic preparedness and bachelor’s degree completion of traditional-age community college transfer students relative to those who began postsecondary education at a four-year college is provided.
