Annotation:This report examines the role that educators’ expectations play in creating barriers to postsecondary education for low-income and minority students. Deeply rooted cultural beliefs are identified in classrooms and schools, and strategies for recognizing and altering these beliefs are included, as well as recommendations for improving pathways to college for underserved students.
