Title:Education and training for TANF recipients: Opportunities and challenges under the final rule

Annotation:This paper explains changes in the new rules that affect TANF recipients’ access to education and training, and the actions that states will need to take in order to take advantage of these changes. Postsecondary education can now count under vocational education, up to one hour of unsupervised homework time can count per hour of class time, and some basic education and ESL can count under vocational educational training.
