Annotation:This paper provides an analysis of “closing the gap” in NAEP science achievement for low-income and minority students. The goal of the present analysis of change in NAEP results by student population groups is to determine if overall state trends of change in student achievement across the states, or for a single state, are matched by the same extent of improvement for students who traditionally have had lower levels of student achievement.
