Title:Crisis at the core: Preparing all students for college and work
Source:http://www.act.org/path/policy/pdf/crisis_repor...
Date:2004
Organization:
Short Description:Emphasizes the need for improved college and workforce-readiness for all students after high school graduation.
Annotation:This report examines the failure of US high schools to adequately prepare all students to succeed in college, and emphasizes the necessity of college-readiness (in terms of the level of preparation needed to enroll and succeed in college), as well as work-place readiness for all students at the time of high school graduation. While not all students plan to attend college after high school, the changing economy and its increasing reliance on a highly skilled workforce necessitates that all high school graduates have college-readiness skills, transferable to the workplace, if needed.
