Title:The student aid gauntlet: Making access to college simple and certain
Short Description:This study was mandated by Congress as a part of the Higher Education Reauthorization Act to identify and fix major sources of complexity in the financial aid process.
Annotation:Rather than promoting college access, the complexity of student financial aid often creates a series of barriers to attending and paying for college. This study was mandated by Congress as a part of the Higher Education Reauthorization Act to identify and fix major sources of complexity in the financial aid process. Findings from this study indicate that a widespread simplification initiative could create significant improvements in college access, and would increase the return on the nation’s investment in financial aid.
