Title:Over half of low-income children live with a parent who works regularly
Organization:Annie E. Casey Foundation
Short Description:Recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey shows that in 2005, nearly 29 million U.S. children lived in low-income families. The majority of these children, or nearly 15 million, had at least one parent who worked regularly, demonstrating that a job alone doesn't always ensure sufficient income to provide for a family's basic needs.
