Title:Paving the way to postsecondary education: K-12 intervention programs for underrepresented youth
Organization:National Postsecondary Education Cooperative (NPEC)
Short Description:This report approaches the topic of K-12 intervention programs by: (1) Mapping the field of K-12-postsecondary education bridge programs; (2) Reviewing selected programs with analytical data that provide information on how programs work and under what conditions; and (3) Identifying what information and data are needed to evaluate such programs to inform future analytic efforts.
Annotation:There exist thousands of specialized interventions and college access programs designed to better prepare underrepresented students for college. Data are generally sparse, however, about whether they work and under what circumstances. This report approaches this problem by: (1) Mapping the field of K-12-postsecondary education bridge programs; (2) Reviewing selected programs with analytical data that provide information on how programs work and under what conditions; and (3) Identifying what information and data are needed to evaluate such programs to inform future analytic efforts.
