Title:Income of U.S. workforce projected to decline if education doesn't improve
Source:http://www.highereducation.org/reports/pa_decli...
Date:2005
Organization:
Short Description:Current demographic trends indicate a projected decline in educational attainment and personal income over the next 15 years, unless states do a better job of educating all racial/ethnic groups.
Annotation:Current trends toward demographic growth in population segments with the lowest levels of education, combined with the retirement of the baby boomer generation indicate that average educational levels and personal income are likely to decline over the next 15 years, unless states do a better job of raising the educational achievement of all racial/ethnic groups. The projected declines can be reversed only by making a stronger commitment to raising educational levels among all residents, especially those in fast growing segments of the population.
