Title:College on credit: How borrowers perceive their education debt
Source:http://www.nelliemae.com:80/library/research_10...
Date:2003
Organization:Nellie Mae
Short Description:These results from the National 2002 Student Loan Survey indicate that while most students believe student loans greatly increased their access to college, students at public universities assumed increased debt at a faster rate than students attending four-year private institutions.
Annotation:These results from the National 2002 Student Loan Survey indicate that while most students believe student loans greatly increased their access to college, students at public universities assumed increased debt at a faster rate than students attending four-year private institutions. African-Americans express greater perceptions of debt burden than other students, and expressed less satisfaction that the benefits of borrowing were worth it, and students with greater levels of debt were found to have a slighly lower probability of buying a home than students who had borrowed less.
